How to Reduce Play in Mounting Tabs on Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter DM6099
Question:
Hi i have a 18k autoslide mounted in a Ram 2017 2500 with the factory prep package. The lateral side to side movement is quite loose as is the forward/rearward movement. is this normal and if not what can i do to tighten up the movements. Thanks

In your 2017 Ram 2500 short bed that has the factory 5th wheel prep kit installed the 18K Demco sliding hitch # DM8550034 will install using the rail adapter kit # DM6099.
If you find that the rail adapter is loose in the factory puck setup then you can adjust the tension on the four mounting tabs by installing another of the included washer shims. The rail kit comes with 8 washers (.875 ID x .030 thick) and these will reduce the play. The Demco part number for this is 14423.
If the rail adapter is secure in the bed but the hitch seems loose in the rails then this is not adjustable.
