Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I want to buy a jeep that will pull at least 5,000 trailer capacity and I want decent gas mileage whatever that means Should I stick with the 4X4 or risk a 4X2? 3.6L V6 Or option 2: Bigger engine. Hemi? econodiesel?

Based on Jeep's website, the Grand Cherokee 3.6L in either 4x2 or 4x4 in the Limited or Sterling will handle that capacity. The Trailhawk and 4x4 Overland will also tow that 6,200 lb capacity. I recommend the trailer package for whatever model you choose because it will have other features to make towing easier on your vehicle.

The larger engines sometimes give you more towing, but your gas mileage will suffer. For any of these 2018 models I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75699 which is also rated for your needed capacity.

Let me know if you have specific vehicle questions and I'd be happy to help with recommendations.
