Since your camper's axle already has brake mounting flanges on it selecting brakes just means confirming the axle weight rating and the mounting bolt pattern on the brake flanges. Most of the 1998 Coleman pop-up campers have dry weights close to or a bit higher than 2000-lbs so there is a good chance your axle rating is 3500-lbs. You can check the axle's identification sticker or plate to make sure so that your chosen brakes have the appropriate stopping power. You can also check with Fleetwood using the camper VIN.

The electric drum brakes we offer for 3500-lb axles are the 10 x 2-1/4-inch size that fit wheels from 13- to 15-inches in diameter. A great option for this axle rating is the self-adjusting left-right brake kit # AKEBRK-35-SA. These have a 4-bolt flange pattern and use hardware kit # BRKH10B. When wiring brakes you can use either brake magnet wire for ground.

A junction box like # HS381-9000 along with ring terminals # 44-5310A and some duplex brake wire # 10-2-1 can make for an easier and clean install.
