Spare Idler Hub for 3,500 lb Axle With 5 on 4-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern

Question:

I have a 2017 6x12 single axel enclosed trailer made by HandH. I want to get a spare hub for roadside emergencies. The purchase agreement states 5 on 4.5 for the 3500# axel. Is this the assembly I need or what other information do I need to provide? Thank You! AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K

For a 3500 lb axle, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K is the correct fit if you have the E-Z Lube spindles with the built in grease zerk. If you have standard spindles without the grease zerk, then you will want # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K.

If you don't need the galvanized option or the EZ Lube option, then you can use # CE13511 which is pre-greased with a carrying case.

After repacking an Idler Hub, does the hub need to be put back on the same axle?

There's no particular reason you need to keep the hubs on the same axle they were mounted to after re-packing the bearings. You can rotate them around if you wish.
