Can 4-Way Plug Into 5-Way and Still be Functional

If my car has a flat four, and the trailer has a flat fivethe fifht for backup lights. Will the four plug into the five and be usable if I dont need the functionality of the back-up lights?

Yes, a 4-way can plug into a 5-way and the 4-way functions will all be fully functional. The reverse light circuit would be the only thing that wouldn't work since it's not connected.
