How to Install 4 to 5-Way Adapter on a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
I have ordered and installed the trailer hitch and 4 wiring kit. That was the easy part. It took about an hour from start to finish. I am now trying to figure out how to install the 5 wire converter. The issue is the backup lights are in the rear hatch.

In order to install a 4-way to 5-way adapter like the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter part # 20036 on your 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe you will want to use a circuit tester like part # ALL640595. Once you have acquired the circuit tester you will need to gain access to the wire loom that feeds to the taillights which is located at the top of the hatch. You will want to test each of the wires in this bundle until you have found the correct reverse light circuit.
If you need further guidance you can take a look at the attached install video as the process will be the same as on your Santa Fe.
