Recommended Zero Contact Interface Wiring Harness for 2015 Mercedes-Benz 250 Blue Tech
Question:
I am installing a trailer hitch on my 2015 Mercedes GLK 250 Blue Tech. I have decided on a Drawtight hitch, but the wiring is a problem. Neither the trailer hitch dealer nor an auto electric shop in Toronto would do the kit installation, as it would disrupt the computer systems on the car. Can I obtain a wiring kit from you that will be easy to install? It seems as though it is powered by the existing brake and light systems through non-contact with the wiring. Please explain to me how this works, and if it would work for brakes, signals, and running lights. Thanks.

For your 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK 250, the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT is what you are seeking. This wiring harness utilizes a technology called zero contact interface using sensors to capture the signal sent through the vehicle wiring without penetrating the wiring insulation. It draws power directly from your vehicle battery and sends the captured signal to your trailer wiring. I've attached a video to assist.
This does require running a power wire to your battery, so I've attached an article to assist with routing that wire.
