How to Determine If a 2002 Toyota Tundra Has a Towable Bumper

Question:

What does excluding factory towable bumper and with factory towable bumper mean? Im looking for a hitch for a 2002 Toyota Tundra - only one identifies it to be with factory towable bumpers. My truck does have a towable rating stamped on it - but Im not sure what you all are designating as factory towable bumper means something different? Please clarify. thank you.

The factory towable bumper on a 2002 Toyota Tundra is one that has about a 1" diameter hole drilled in the center of the bumper for a hitch ball. I have attached a photo of a Tundra with and without a factory towable bumper for you to help distinguish between the two. The factory towable bumper also has extra bracing for support.

I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13184 which works on models both with and without the factory towable bumper. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. It is made right here in the U.S.A. and comes with a lifetime warranty.

I have attached a sample install video on the above hitch for you as well.
