Best Way To Move a Heavy Trailer In and Out of Parking Spaces

Question:

I have a 2013 Silverado 2500HD Deisel crew cab, long bed. Want to put a hitch on front to maneuver 35foot travel trailer that empty weight is about 7400#. Dont know TW but assuming its 750-850#. Also looking at draw tight hitch. Only moving camper in and out of parking space. Was hoping to get responses from anyone that has used either of these hitches for same purpose with similar weights to see if there are any problems. Thanks

I do have an option that will help you move your trailer in and out of parking spaces but both of the front mount trailer hitch receivers we have for your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65078 and the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31023 have a maximum vertical load of 500 lbs. The tongue weight of your trailer will exceed the maximum vertical load rating of either trailer hitch therefore, I cannot recommend using this hitch with your trailer. I also searched through the reviews for either hitch and wasn't able to see anything about customers exceeding the maximum 500 lb vertical load.

Instead, I recommend taking a look at the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly part # TVXL2 for a 2" hitch ball or part # TVXL25 for a 2-5/16" hitch ball. This dolly is specially designed to help move large trailers in and out of parking spaces. The dolly has an integrated drive chain which will allow you to move your trailer around with minimal effort. I have attached a demonstration video of the dolly for you as well.
