Hello, Im planning on doing an over/under axle move on my 5x7 carry-on utility trailer. My understanding is that it has a 1-3/4 axle and therefore needs the TRSS175 spring seats to be welded on to the axle. I have a flux core welder, which works on steel but not aluminum and a few other metals. I need to know if these spring seats and my axle are made of a metal that I can weld with the flux core method.

The spring seat part # TRSS175 that you referenced is made of steel like what your axle is made of so it would not be an issue for you to weld at all.

Yes you can weld new spring seats to your axle so that it matches your trailer frame if you ordered the wrong size. For 1-3/4 inch spring seats you would want the part #TRSS175 that you referenced.
