Locating Replacement Hubs for 1994 EZ Loader Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 1994, model 17-20 2350# capacity ezloader I need new hubs for. The measurements on the spindle are as follow as best as I can measure: Seal, 1.681” or 111/16” Inner bearing, 1.375” or 13/8” Outer bearing, 1 1/16” I think it might be your item # 8-258-59UC1 but am not sure, Thanks

The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-258-50UC1 referenced in your question is designed for 2,200 pound axles and features a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It actually uses the same # L44649 bearing for both its inner and outer bearing, which has an inner diameter of 1.063 inches. Based on the spindle measurements you provided, this does not appear to be the correct hub. The outer bearing seems to match up with your measurement, but the different 1.375 inch measurement you took for the inner bearing calls for a different fit.

We do not currently have a trailer hub assembly available that uses an inner and outer bearing to match the measurements that you took. I recommend verifying these measurements on your trailer spindle using a digital caliper like # PTW80157, since the measurements need to be exact. I have also attached an image that clarifies where the measurements should be taken on the spindle.

If you still have your old hubs around, you can also take a look at the bearings that they used. The bearing number should actually be stamped right onto the bearings themselves, or you can simply measure their inner diameter.

If you are able to verify these measurements or find that they are bit different, please let me know and I will be happy to recommend a replacement set of hubs for your trailer.
