Based on your information, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, Item # 90195, for you 2010 Toyota Highlander Limited. It is a proportional controller with an LCD display, storable settings, 3 boost levels, runs continuous diagnostics, and is transferable between vehicles.
If you do not already have a wire harness, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector, Item # HM11141845. If you have a factory tow package, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector, Item # HM11141825.
Whether you install a 4-Way Connector or already have one, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit For Trailer Brake Controller, Item # ETBC7. It will convert your 4-Way Connector into a 7-Way Connector so that you can operate your brake controller. After installation, you will also have a combo 4-Way/7-Way Connector that can be used for either function. All the hardware and wiring you need is included in the kit.
