Available Propane Adapter Hoses

Question:

Ive got a new grille with a regulator and hose connection for a 5-gal tank. I need to hook this to my house Propane tank that has a flexible hose with a female threaded fitting a 3/4inch socket fits over this. What do you have for this and will the fact that my fuel is passing two regulators one at the house tank and one on the grille affect performance? Thanks!

If your house propane tank is a standard 20-lb tank you will not need two regulators. This is already a low-pressure system so one regulator will suffice. Using two will not be an issue when the tank is full and in warmer weather, but as the tank empties and as temperatures drop so too will the pressure available from the tank.

To illustrate, a 20-lb tank with 4.7 gallons of LP gas inside will put out 20-lbs of pressure when the temperature is 10-degrees Fahrenheit but this same tank will put out 135-lbs of pressure at 100-degrees Fahrenheit.

From your description of the fittings I am not certain which exact ypes you have. The linked article will help you determine this; photos and descriptions for each type will let you nail that down. You can also send in photos to show us the two fittings you need to join together. We probably have an adapter hose (without a regulator) that you can use.

For example, part # 100555-72-MBS is a 6-foot adapter hose that allows connection of a disposable cylinder port to a Type 1 fitting.
