Tekonsha P2 vs P3 Brake Controller Recommendation for 2013 GMC Yukon
Question:
My CPO Yukon has OEM HD Towing package with 7 wire connector factory installed. No factory controller ??! Which is better choice P3 or P2? Second question ... is a plug amd play harness available or included with either unit? I have a Voyager in my 96 Tahoe and have been very satisfied with it for 20 years Thanks for any guidance!

If you have never used a brake controller before, the P2 # 90885 will be easier to learn on and use than the P3, # 90195 initially. The P3 has several features the P2 doesn't including the ability to change the LED screen color, change the language, and the biggest difference is the diagnostics. Instead of flashing a code you would have to look at the P3 has clear messages telling you what the problem is.
Other than that the controllers function in the same way and mount in the same way. I have included links to video reviews on both controllers for you to compare. The P3 is our biggest seller though so it would probably be the one you'd like the most once you spent a few minutes figuring it out.
No plug is present under the dash on your 2013 GMC Yukon, but the needed wires are already run. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. Check out the install video I attached for more info on this.
