Installing Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118253 on 2011 Honda Pilot

Question:

I purchased the trailer light assembly item# 118253 for my 2011 Honda Pilot. It did not have a place to ground the converter box. It did not look like the associated YouTube video. The converter box did not have a ground wire or double sided tape. My lights will not come on and from what I have read the lack of a grounding wire maybe the problem. Can you provide a way to ground the converter box or send me the correct converter box with grounding wire?

The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118253 that you referenced is confirmed to fit the 2011 Honda Pilot and is intended to replace the factory 7-Way connector. The included converter box will simply connect directly to the grey tow plug that should be found by opening the access panel inside of the storage compartment on the Pilot (see attached image). The converter box will plug right into this gray plug. This is the only connection that is needed for the box. The converter box itself does not have a ground wire (the wire/double-sided tape and plug that you mentioned are on the vehicle).

If you cannot locate this factory plug on your Pilot, or this does not resolve the issue, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
