When installing a wedge for a Sidewinder, it is important to make sure the wedge is making contact with the opening of the fifth wheel head. Check out the photo I attached showing how the universal wedge should fit in a head. Keep in mind, this is a universal wedge, so there may be a small gap, even if the wedge is all the way against the king pin.

For a better fit, I recommend using the Custom Wedge for the Curt E16 Fifth Wheel Hitch, # RP64FR. This wedge was designed to fit the Curt E16 hitch that you have and will likely work better than the universal wedge.

Yes! The wedge that you need is part # SWW-06. This is a fit for the Companion and Patriot B&W 5th wheel hitches.
