I had the same issue most have with this item. The frame mount was too narrow, and mounting holes didn't line up. I had to use the Jack method to spread the mounting rails to fit.
After that it's awesome. I love this front hitch receiver on my truck, its very versatile.

If you are having troubles with the mount being too narrow and the holes not lining up, it could be that the hitch has been flexed during shipment. This is common amongst hitches, since the mounting brackets are made from a mild steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle after installation. If the entire hitch was made of rigid steel, there would be a greater chance of the hitch being damaged and experiencing stress cracks. Such cracks could cause the hitch to malfunction. This flexing often times will cause the holes not to align. Because of this we do have a help article I have the link attached below that will walk you through the process of straightening the hitch.

2016 Nissan Frontier

I got this Class II front hitch for my 2016 Nissan Frontier to help me back a small trailer into a tight space. It arrived in good condition with complete instructions and good quality hardware. When I tried to bolt the hitch on, I found the 1/4" plate brackets were 3/8" too narrow to match up with the holes in the Frontier's frame. Michelle at ETrailer gave me some good advice on how to spread the brackets with a hydraulic jack and bingo, the hitch fits and looks great! BTW, the ground clearance is still around 9 1/2".

This hitch is well made, it will last for many years. Its also used for a push bar and my shade umbrella!

2017 Nissan Frontier

Curtis "Front Mount Trailer Hitch" ordered for 2017 Nissan Frontier (Crew Cab-4x4).
Excellent product quality, quick delivery, and follow up customer service. Hitch as advertised. As several other reviewers have mentioned, the front mount trailer hitch holes do not line up exactly with the truck frame holes so a bit of manhandling is required to get the bolts installed properly. I needed to be able to push my boat/trailer up my driveway, around a corner, and into the garage. Works better than I expected; very satisfied.

Still all good. Works and fits my truck better than expected.

Hitch is doing what it's supposed to do but 1 year in and rust is already starting. Otherwise it's good. I use it for mounting a plow

by:
2021 Nissan Frontier

The service from etrailer was excellent! The only issue I had was I had to spread the flanges out about a 1/2 inch with a hydraulic jack to make the hole spread correct. This would be a manufacturer issue not the distributor. In the end I was able to install, and it works well with my home plow.

It sounds like your hitch may have been flexed during shipping. This can happen because the hitch is designed to flex with your vehicle once installed.

2006 Nissan Frontier

Well, I had the same issues as everyone else with this front mount hitch. when i went to mount the hitch the bolt holes would not line up. Most everyone else have been taking a file or something to widen the holes to make it work... but in doing that it makes the bolt head too lose to the bracket and cant get a socket on. so what i did, I got a 4x4 block of wood and a bottle jack to spread the mounting bracket apart. I had to spread the bracket about 3/8 inch. after that the holes lined up perfect..

Other then that issue, the hitch seems to be strong, thick and has good welds.

etrailer.com is excellent!! I've purchased several items from them. always fast shipping and been very happy. I will continue to purchase from them.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a great product. But in my case the hole needed to be shave and the side plate needed to in 90 degrees to fit in my frontier 2018.

by:
Nissan

The front receiver for my Nissan truck fit well and was easy to install.

by:
2013 Nissan Frontier

The distance between the flange bolt holes was too short. I had to use a hydraulic jack and 2 X 4's to spread the flanges to obtain the proper distance.
It's on and looks great. I am glad I didn't have to drill our any holes.

by:

Ordered my front trailer hitch about a year ago. I use it for my surf fishing rod holder/equipment basket. Driving on the beach it's nice to have your rods and bait cooler in the front.
I tried to install it myself, but the holes didn't line up exactly. Took it to a shop and they put it on for me without much difficulty. Took them 20 minutes. No drilling involved....they were just strong enough to feed the bolts through the holes well enough to mount the hitch.
I'd buy this again.

by:

I bought this front hitch for my 2018 Nissan Frontier. The video looked pretty straight forward but after numerous tries the holes to mount the hitch were slightly off. After a year I finally took it to a mechanic to help me install it. We could not use the large washers that came with the bolts because we needed the extra space to get the bolts into the holes. Even then, to get the last bolt in, it took one person using a pry bar to help line up the hole while another person got the bolt in. I’m not sure if the hitch got slightly damaged during shipping. The holes to bolt to the truck frame were off about an eighth of an inch. In the end the hitch is mounted but wasn’t as easy as the video showed.

by:

Great customer service, poor fitment of hitch. Purchased hitch for 2019 Frontier with no body damage. The four mounting holes to attach the hitch to the truck frame were drilled at an diagonal angle. I had to expand them with a carbide bit-30 plus minutes. Hitch holes still did not line up with frame. I then stood the hitch up on its end, and used a lot of cribbing and a 10 ton bottle jack to expand the distance between the mounting arms a 1/4 inch to allow it to line up with the weld nuts in the trucks frame. Definitely not a 40 minute job like it states on the web site. Hitch is now mounted, but it was an effort to get it there.

by:

Fast and the way it was described

by:

i placed this on my truck a year ago with a 9 ton winch on it i’ve pulled several stuck tractors on lots of 18” diameter trees and haven’t had a single issue with it. i will say that i need a lift kit on my truck because some side walks and what not are a little high and i do scrap the bottom of it. but it holding up well

by:
2007 Nissan Frontier

Good finish and appearance. Sturdy. Didn't fit though. Had to use a Hi-lift jack to spread mounts to get it to fit.

by:

I have bought and installed 13 trailer hitches for myself and 3 for friends. Most of them were rear hitches but at least 3 were front hitches. I think they all came from E-trailer. Every one was a snap to install except this one which was a nightmare. I have a car lift in my high ceiling garage so getting under the vehicle is not a problem.
The distance between the mounts were too close so the washers supplied would not fit between the sholder and the holes and the bolts supplied were not long enough. After much frustration I ground the washers flat on one side and used bolts 1/2 " longer and was able to mount the hitch.

As always we were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency, knowledge and accommodating response from your company. Adam not only answered our questions about which front hitch would work for us, but he thoroughly handled the sale, shipping and follow-up tracking of it. This may seem minor, but neither U-Haul nor our mechanic were able to acquire the hitch despite several weeks of attempts. This hitch arrived within one week. Although we haven't had it mounted or tried it out yet, we have every confidence that it will work well.
This is the third product we have purchased from etrailer and we could not be more pleased. Thank you Adam and etrailer. You are a blessing.

by:

I installed the front hitch bar to expand the flexibility and uses for my truck. The hitch fit nicely with only minor adjustments. I was easily able to install the hitch by myself. I have two primary plans for the hitch: 1- Use a trailer ball to move two trailers I have around my work area with precision and less guessing by facing forward. 2- I have a front winch plate that can be added as needed to use a winch for those off road needs.
The staff at Etrailer were most helpful especially arranging a special delivery time to be sure I was home when it arrived.

by:

This product allows me to use my Snowsport Utility snowplow in the winter along with a variety of other hitch mount accessories. Highly recomended.

by:

Over all like the mount, but had to push mount holes apart 3/4 of an inch to align with frame holes. still waiting for plow

by:

Very difficult to install. Holes did not line up no matter how much I tried. Had to press it apart so it could be installed

by:
2017 Nissan Frontier

Fast shipping I will post pics when installed I have the same hitch on the rear and it has had no problems installed almost a year ago

by:
2011 Nissan Frontier

Holes do not line up with holes in fram e.

by:

The hitch seems to be a good one, but I did have a little trouble with installation. I had to grind a couple of the holes out to be able to bolt it in.

by:
Nissan Pathfinder

I can't believe how fast this came. The product is extremely sturdy, actually much more than needed. I had a mechanic install the tow bar on the front of my Pathfinder. It took him maybe a half hour. It is pretty much hidden, which is what I wanted. It does decrease ground clearance, but I don't think this will be a problem for me. I haven't attached anything yet, but it appears extremely strong and solid. It is quite heavy, which I didn't expect. It bolted on without problem.

  • Front Mount Trailer Hitch for 2015 Nissan Frontier for Lining Up Trailer
Although stabilizers like you are asking about are not made, what a lot of people do is use a front-mounted hitch for things like this, so that's what I recommend for your 2015 Nissan Frontier, and the correct fit is the following: - Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31241

The only way the Curt Front Hitch part # 31241 that you referenced can be installed on a vehicle like your 2011 Nissan Frontier would be with it attaching to the bottom of your vehicle frame.
