Trailer hitch fits are very specific. Typically a trailer hitch will only fit a vehicle model for a few years before the manufacturer makes changes that prevent it from working.

So for your 2018 Honda CR-V you'd want a new hitch like the Draw Tite # 76128 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and would work great.
