Lowering Exhaust to Install Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2017 Honda CR-V

Hi there, Please explain what lowering the exhaust might mean to install a hitch on a 2017 Honda CR-V, please. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we don't have a video installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 76128 on a 2017 Honda CR-V as of yet. It would clearly show this process.
Generally, lowering the exhaust just means you need to disconnect the mounts that hold the exhaust pipe in place because you need space above it to install the hitch. You can look under your Honda and see how the tail pipe hangs for an idea. Most are just connected with a metal piece that slides into a rubber hanger. Then the exhaust will hang much lower than its normal location so you have space above it to mount the Draw-Tite.
I attached a video of a hitch being installed on a 2016 CR-V. It's not necessarily the exact same but the idea will be. Skip ahead to the 5:00 mark and you'll see the installer lowering the exhaust.
