Im looking for a gooseneck hitch and fifth wheel adaptor for 2017 GMC 2500 hd denali. what is the difference between the ezr and regular curt hitch. what do you recomend

For your 2017 GMC 2500 Denali, I recommend the Curt EZr Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # C611-624 is a confirmed fit as is the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch w/ Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # C607-604. The only major difference between these two is the tongue weight rating of the Double Lock is 7500 lbs compared to the 6,000 lbs of The EZr Double Lock. The other difference is in the safety chain loop locations with the EZr being in line with the ball and the Double Lock being offset. Both are very nice gooseneck hitches.

For your 5th wheel, I recommend the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate for EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C16220 or the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # C16210. With either of these adapters, I then recommend the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # C16140 for a compatible 5th wheel hitch. I've attached a video to assist.

I also recommend the wiring harness # 50-97-410 to add a second working 7-way trailer wiring connection to the bed of your truck for easy access and connection.

Because you are seeking an underbed gooseneck and 5th wheel trailer connection, you may want to consider the B&W Gooseneck # BWGNRK1016-5W and 5th wheel hitch # BWRVK3500-5W which are designed specifically for this purpose. Like Curt, B&W products are made in the USA.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
