Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 to Prevent Binding
Question:
Im looking at the Curt A25 vs. the BandW Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch. I could use a 16K rated hitch with what I pull but wanted something with higher capacity for possible future RV purchase. My question is about unhitching. Which unit works best if the hitch is in a bind? My Reese 16K Titan hitch is a bear to uncouple if there is any bind on it. I want something that works best in those situations. Thanks for your help. 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3700 is the better option for your concern on binding. The cam-action latching handle and fully articulating head work together to prevent binding and ease coupling and uncoupling of your king pin. The method in which the jaws work will be a better option than the Curt A25 # C16066 which has a similar coupling style to your Reese 16K.
I also recommend using the 5th wheel wiring harness # C56000 to add a 7-way to the bed of your truck for easy connection and a clean application.
