Recommended Weight Distribution System for Aliner Classic Camping Trailer
Question:
hello, would appreciate your advice: do i need a weight distribution hitch ? i recently purchased an Aliner Classic camping trailer 57 inches high when folded down, Wt 1515 lbs, GVWR 2100lb, dry hitch wt 190 lbs. I will be pulling it with 2015 Honda Odyssey, GVWR 6019 lbs, Towing capacity 3500 lbs, GAWR-F 2910 lbs, GAWR-R 3340 lbs. It has a 2 in, 3500 lb towing capacity ball mount hitch. Thank you

For the weight capacity, you do not technically need a weight distribution system. However, due to the design of the trailer, I do recommend using a weight distribution system for the sway control features as the crosswinds or passing vehicles may create more sway than would be comfortable.
For your 2015 Honda Odyssey, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66082 for your application because it will be a fit for your trailer tongue weight and any additional cargo weight behind the rear axle of your van and it will actively combat sway. The dual cam and spring bar system actively works to eliminate sway before it occurs by holding your trailer in line with your tow vehicle. It is designed to overcome those cams for turns and then automatically return to function upon completing the turn. I've attached a video to assist.
You will also need a hitch ball like # A-6 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter option or # A-90 for a 2 inch diameter ball.
Let me know if you have further questions.

I have a subaru ascent 5000 towing. Factory hitch. We pull a aliner Evolution 15 2350 3500 gvmr. Tongue i think is 200. Do you recommend a wDH? If yes why and which one. Aliner always say no to sway bars.
