Recommended Sumo Springs for 2018 Ford F53 Chassis 24,000 lbs

Question:

I am looking at a set of Sumo Springs for the front axle of my 2018 F53 with a 24K chassis. I need to know the difference between the Maxim and the Rebel model. How does the 2 piece work if the load is not great enough to have the 2 pieces mate up?

The SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs - 2 Piece - Front Axle # SSF-173-40-2 will support the load and compress together on your motorhome all the time when there is weight. The split design is a benefit for the individual springs when the suspension travel is greater than what a single non-split design could handle. In other words, when one wheel travels lower on a turn, the spring will not take weight off the wheel so it has more weight in contact with the road for better traction.

The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-187-54-1 do not have the split design because they are for the rear, non-turning axle. This will both compress and restrict movement to assist with body roll as well as load bearing.

Based on your chassis weight these are the two recommended spring sets for your vehicle.

I have a 1990 Holiday. Rambler 31 ft class A with Ford chassis, what system would work best? Lots of body roll ,makes it difficult in windy conditions .

You're going to want the SumoSprings # SSF-172-40-2 for the front and then the SumoSprings # SSR-185-40-1 if your GVWR is 16K - 18K or # SSR-181-54-1 if your GVWR is 20K - 22K for the rear. I also recommend investing in anti-sway bars and a steering stabilizer to help with the movement. I attached a link to our selection that you can filter through in regards to your GVWR.
