Recommended 4 inch Lift Spindles or System to Raise Deck Height of Trailer
Question:
Looking for part number suggestion - modifying a trailer deck for snowmobiles and need to eliminate tire fender/tub and need tire/deck clearance. Currently has 15inch wheels 195 55r 15 tires and 1 1/4inch square axle - ped maybe 5? Looking for new straight axle 51inch spring center to center and hub combo with 8inch wheels to clear bottom of deck? Are there any best practice or other info that would help me choose the correct parts and axle? You have a large inventory and too many choices. :

For your specific application, we really only have one style of trailer axle and suspension that will work with your spring center to spring center dimensions. It is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with 4 Inch Lift Spindle. This is available in 2000 lb # ASR2KHDS04, 3500 lb # ASR35HDS05, and 5200 lb # TASR5200S03. These can be used in tandem axle applications as well. Most snowmobile trailers will have a 3500 lbs axle when using 15 inch wheels if you want to be similar load capacity.
Even with this you will only get about 5 inches once you account for suspension deflection, so 8 inch wheels will work, but you will still need to raise the deck to get the tire clearance needed.
Let me know how you'd like to proceed and I'd be happy to assist.
