Expert Reply:

Trailer manufacturers design trailers for a maximum weight capacity. This capacity is determined by all the parts of the trailer including the axles, wheels and tires, frame, etc. Increasing the capacity of one of these components (like the tires) will not increase overall capacity. Because of these limitations, it is not easy to increase the weight capacity of your trailer from its maximum capacity of 3,500 lbs.

A great tire that I recommend is the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire Item # AM10210. It is a radial, special trailer tire that has excellent traction and provides a smooth ride in wet and dry conditions. It fits 13-inch wheels and has a maximum load capacity of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi. Like your current tires, this tire is rated at the maximum weight capacity of your rig.
