Recessed D Ring Recommendation for Securing 4k Vehicle to Enclosed Car Hauler

Question:

We are buying a 24 ft Cargo Mate enclosed car hauler trailer to transport cars. Will the recessed D rings with a 6,000 pound capacity work to hold down a 4,000 car? I keep seeing these advertised for atvs, snowmobiles, small tractors and so on with something about 6,000lb/2,000 lb strength. Is there something different I should be getting for a heavy car other than the recessed d rings advertised here? I am hoping that the recessed d rings will work as we will use this trailer for moving also. How many would you recommend for this size trailer if this kind will work? We will have a 3/4 inch thick plywood floor also. What is the thickness of the back plate should we get? I have looked at several of your products and would want the most durable... Thanks,

For a 4,000 lb car the Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor w Backing Plate and Hardware # RR6K that you referenced would work well. These have a 2,000 lb working load limit and if you used 4 of these (one on each corner of the vehicle) you'd be good.

Since your floor is 3/4 inch plywood I'd recommend attaching the backing plate of this kit to a metal crossmember so that you have a more sturdy connection point.
