What Kind of Hardware Should I Use For My Trailer D-Ring Tie Downs?

Question:

i dont see an screw in bolts to these d rings. do you have to buy these bolts separately? what suggestions can you give me that i can use for the d rings? they should be heavy duty bolts, right? i am hanging a sound barrier panel over my back door that is approximately 48 lbs. and has 5 grommets at the top. in order for me to move it myself when i need to, i want to add heavy duty unlocking cargo control carbiners to the d ring bolts so i can move the panel across the floor to connect to the other d rings and carbiners to hang it on so i will have access outside the back door.

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Trailer D-Ring Tie Down item # LRB1, will accept bolts no larger than 7/16 inches in diameter so you could go with a 3/8 inch bolt/nut or screw. For your application you can use standard hardware from your local hardware store. I recommend using the same material the D rings are made out of, which is zinc-plated steel, this will keep the d-rings from oxidizing.
