M10 Bolts Will Not Thread Into the Frame to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Kia Sorento
Question:
Bought the draw-tite hitch for a 2015 Kia Sorento - got the m12 bolts through and tightened, but the smaller, m10 that fit the threaded openings don’t seem to fit. tried all four bolts into all four pre-drilled holes, but none threaded in. Any ideas?

Expert Reply:
The weld nuts in the frame on your 2015 Kia Sorento are likely packed with grime and corrosion. Cleaning them out will allow the bolts to thread in.
Basically you will spray the holes with PB Blaster or WD40 and let them soak for about 15 minutes. Then start cleaning them out with a wire brush, like a battery terminal cleaner or a tube brush such as # 814113. You may need to repeat the process more than once.
I have included some helpful links below on cleaning weld nuts for you.
