PowerTrac Trailer Brake Controller Not Lighting Up Installed on a 2001 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a Ford F-150 and a Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller. Ive tried all of the suggestions Ive found in the help section. So far heres what Ive done. At controller - Confirmed power to controller with circuit tester. Confirmed power on red wire when brake is engaged tester. Confirmed power on blue wire when brake is engaged and when manual override is engaged. Confirmed ground is good. At rear - Confirmed power signal at all circuits. Ive also tried to isolate the truck vs. trailer as suggested. Testing at truck has very confusing results. Circuit tester connected from ground to brake output blue line does not make the brake controller light turn green, but engaging the brake lights up the tester in this configuration. Ive bought a brand new controller, Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller, and installed and get the exact same results. Ive checked all connections and there is no visible corrosion. What next?

On the PowerTrac brake controller # 39523 when no trailer is connected the light on the controller will either be flashing or off. It isn't until a trailer is connected or the brake controller is operated that the light will come on.

Did you hardwire in the brake controller or did you use the pigtail # 3035-P to plug it in? If you hardwired it in then it is possible that the red wire on the controller is not connected to the correct brake switch wire on the vehicle. There can be more than 1 wire that has power when the brake pedal is pressed. If the wire it is connected to now has power when the vehicle head lights or turn signals are turned on then it is not the correct wire.

Apart from the light not coming on is the controller working normally?
