When Adding Flexible Brake Line to Trailer for Hinge Kit Does Line Need to be Cut
Question:
Hello, Id like to use this line to tie into existing hard line and add a swing away tongue hinge. I realize I need to cut then flare the existing line. What other fittings do I need besides this hose? Does the hose connect directly to the actuator in the hitch on one end then I need a fitting for other end? Thanks.

The flexible line part # BH-3MFS-3-5 is designed to thread directly into the back of a surge brake actuator.
Instead of cutting your current hard brake line you would want to coil the metal line to move the fitting back so that you can use the flex line there.
There are some simple little pipe benders that you can get at a hardware store that will allow you to bend steel lines without kinking them. You can usually do it by hand by carefully bending the line around something like a soda or coffee can. You always want the highest point in the brake line to be at the master cylinder. So when you coil the line you want it to spiral down to the wheel.
