Recommended Brake Controller for Ram 2500 and Dexter Electric-Over-Hydraulic Actuator On Trailer
Question:
I picked up a gooseneck with dexter e/h brakes. I seem to have zero brakes in trailer. Can I run the brakes with the IBTC? Or do I need to do something different? Can remove the reverse wire from center pin in my seven pin connector and send constant power and be all set?Ram 2500

It sounds like you have an electric over hydraulic brake actuator like the Dexter # K71-650. This is supposed to be compatible with the factory integrated brake controller in your Ram 2500, however it often isn't the case. I recommend using an aftermarket controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which works great with these systems. You can use the wiring harness for brake controller that is the correct fit for your model year for an easy install but you will need to have your dealer reconfigure your system. I've attached an article to assist.
This won't require any reconfiguration of your trailer connector. I'm confused by why you would want to change that as your 12V on your 7-way will already have that ability.
