Longer Shank for use With Fastway Weight Distribution System

Question:

I have a 2015 Toyota Sienna towing a 17 foot trailer. I have a generator box above the tongue that reduces my radius when turning. I currently have a 12 inch shank. The corner of the box hit the rear window of the van if turned to sharp and I have blown out my rear window. An extra 6 inches would resolve my issue. Will an 18 inch shank work for my trailer package Fastway weight distribution or will lose trailer lift?

There are some solutions available to you, but we do not carry 18 inch shanks designed for use with Fastway weight distribution systems.

Since Equal-i-zer makes a pair of shanks that are 18 inches and have tongue weight capacities between 600 lbs and 1,400 lbs your best option would be to get an Equal-i-zer weight distribution system and shank. For example, Equal-i-zer system # EQ37061ET has a GTW of 6,000 lbs and a total tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs, while # EQ37041ET has a GTW of 4,000 lbs and a total tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs. Then you could add the appropriate shank; # EQ90-02-4500 offers a 7" rise or 3" drop while # EQ90-02-4600 will give you an 8" rise or 4" drop.

I have added links to a couple review videos for you to take a look at as well.
