Can a Hitch Extender be Used With Weight Distribution System
Question:
I was wondering if it is safe to pull my camper with adding a hitch extender. The campers gross weight is about 5000 lbs, I pull with a 2018, 1500 dodge ram, I currently use a weight distribution setup and want to add that into the end of the extender. Im trying to get tailgate and jack clearance issues

While I can certainly understand wanting to add an extension for your clearance issues, a hitch extender cannot be used with a weight distribution system, though there is an option that can help, which is a longer shank for your weight distribution system.
The longest shank for your Ram's 2" hitch is from Equal-i-zer and is 18" long.
- Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 18" Long - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # EQ90-02-4500
- Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 18" Long - 8" Rise, 4" Drop # EQ90-02-4600
I have added links to video reviews of both shanks for you to check out.
