Trailer Hitch and Wiring Kit Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Hello We just bought a 2017 Highlander XLE AWD. I would like to know which hitch you would recommend. Also which wiring harness. We did not specifically order the vehicle with a tow package. However, it has the extra transmission cooler etc. So I dont know if that says anything about what is already on the vehicle for wiring. I have watched a video from your site but if you have specific ones that you recommend those would be appreciated as well. Thanks

The most popular trailer hitch we offer for your 2017 Toyota Highlander is the Curt part # C13200 which would fit and work well. I attached an install video for you to check out too.
For trailer wiring you'd want the part # HM11141825 since you listed your vehicle as having the converter under the dash and having the tow package.
If you didn't have the tow package you'd want the part # 118449 instead.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
