Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for a 2002 Chevy Tahoe

Question:

I am towing a 2017 EVO T172BH almost 22 feet with a 2002 Chevy Tahoe 2wd 5.3 liter engine, if you can help me pick a weight distribution hitch system?

Before determining the best weight distribution system, you will need to know the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer along with the weight of the cargo that will be behind the rear axle of your 2002 Chevy Tahoe. This is called your total tongue weight (TW), and you can determine this either with a scale like # e99044 or by one of the methods outlined in the article on determining TW I've linked for you. For example, if your trailer had a tongue weight of 575 lbs and you had 100 lbs of cargo behind the rear axle of your Tahoe, your TW would be 675 lbs and a weight distribution system with a maximum TW capacity of 800 lbs would ideal.

If your TW is in this range, I recommend the Reese SC # RP66083. This weight distribution system has a tongue weight capacity between 400 and 800 lbs with a gross towing weight of 8,000 lbs and uses spring bar hangers with integrated friction pads to reduce sway. You will need a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank; # A-90 for a 2 inch ball and # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.

I have added a link to a review video on the Reese SC system as well as a link to a help article on weight distribution systems.
