Comparing the Stromberg Carlson # LG-3 and the Lippert Components # LC333964 Landing Gear Sets

Question:

I have a 2007 Dutchman 30foot with wheel RV trailer model #30CE-2S. I would like to replace the original landing system by using the current landing leg clamps without having to weld in a new setleg = 29-1/2inch long and the distance between the clamps is 17-1/2. Based on research at your site it indicates that the 6500# Stromberg Carlson LG-3 and the 6000# Lippert LC 333964 should be direct replacements for the existing system. Am I correct or should I consider purchasing other components?

You are correct in your findings. Both sets of Landing Gear, the Stromberg Carlson # LG-3 and the Lippert # LC333964, have the standard weld stop locations where the inside to inside measurement is 15-1/2 inches and the outside to outside of the weld stop measurement is 17-1/2 inches and they measure 29-1/2 inches tall.

Either of these will fit the current brackets you have on your RV. One other thing you might want to note is that part # LG-3 has a total lift of 34-7/8 inches with travel being 19-7/8 inches and the drop leg being 15 inches. The part # LC333964 has a total lift of 37 inches with the travel being 21 inches and the drop leg being 16 inches. This will not affect how they fit on your RV, just how much lift they offer.
