Replacement ST145R12 Tire and Wheel for Acme Tow Dolly
Question:
Tire is for an Acme Tow Dolly. What is max speed? What is pressure recommendation with a Hyundai Electra on the dolly? Will also need wheels as current wheels are 10.

Expert Reply:
Any trailer or tow dolly tire should always be inflated to the maximum psi pressure shown on the tire sidewall. It is never appropriate to under- or over-inflate a trailer/dolly tire since only when fully inflated can the tire deliver its rated weight capacity. Naturally it is also important that the vehicle loaded on the dolly be within the dolly's rated capacity.
Acme offers several different dolly products and these are specified to use Load Range E tires in size ST145R12. Their wheels use the common 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern.
We offer one wheel/tire product that meets the above specs, part # AM31215 from Kenda. This item is rated for 1520-lbs at its rated 80-psi pressure. This tire is rated for 65-mph. We have no other tires in this size rated for higher speeds. For a tire only (no wheel) use part # AM10140.
