For your 2006 Keystone Cougar 290EFS Fifth Wheel Trailer, I recommend looking at the Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010. Based on my research, it looks like your Keystone Cougar has a total weight of just under 8,000 pounds. This landing gear set has a combined weight capacity of 12,000 pounds, making it more than enough for your trailer, which will allow it work less hard to do its lifting and ultimately result in a longer working life span. These will give you a lift of 38 inches and includes a 3-year warranty.
You will weld new hangers onto the front of the trailer frame, then bolt the jacks to the hangers for installation. You can then mount the switches anywhere on the trailer for easy access. I have attached the installation details along with a short demonstration video for you to look through.
