5th Wheel Hitch for 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed Towing 5th Wheel with Reese Revolution Pin Box

Question:

I am considering buying a 2013 Flagstaff Classic Super Lite 8528RKWS that has a Reese revolution pin box on it. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed with a goose neck ball in the bed. I pull a 1994 Holiday Rambler currently and was wondering if I could use a goose neck adapter on the Reese Revolution or if I soul need to get a true 5th wheel hitch for the revolution.

The Reese Revolution (also called Sidewinder) pivoting 5th wheel pin boxes cannot be used with any type of gooseneck-to-5th-wheel adapter so for your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed with a goose neck ball in the bed you will need to remove and replace the gooseneck hitch with a 5th wheel.

You can use custom-fit 5th wheel install kit # C16420-204 from Curt which will save you installation time by eliminating some drilling. This will provide industry-standard rails (ISRs) that will accept any standard 5th wheel fixed hitch. Since you will have a Revolution pivoting pin box you will not need a slider hitch for this short-bed truck.

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115 will pair nicely with the trailer's GVWR of 8950-lbs. You'll also need Curt Wedge # C16991 to keep the king pin from rotating inside the hitch head.
