Trailer Hitch Receiver Won't Fit on my 2017 Subaru Impreza

I went to install the hitch for my 2017 Subaru Impreza. The mechanic had car on lift so I could see - the bolt holes on hitch are 34 center to center. The car frame is 35 center to center. We could not get it to fit. Please assist?

I was able to look up your order and saw that you had purchased the Curt trailer hitch part # C11286. Unfortunately this hitch will fit Subaru Impreza 5 door wagons from 2012-2016. There was a design change for the 2017 models.

The correct Curt trailer hitch receiver for your 2017 Subaru Impreza 5 door wagon is part # C11465.

Since all hitches are made of steel and are designed to bolt on to the exact same points on any given vehicle there is not usually much weight difference between brands of hitches of the same receiver size and Class rating. But in the case of your…
