On your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 2500HD truck, we have couple of heavy-duty Class V trailer hitches that I recommend.

The Draw-Tite Class V Hitch, # DT45517, is a class V hitch with the 2-1/2 inch receiver opening. This hitch has a Gross Towing Weight of 13,000lbs w/o Weight Distribution and 17,000 lbs with WD. Also the tongue weight rating is 1,300 lbs w/o WD and 1,700 lbs with WD. This hitch is custom-fit to bolt on to the frame of your Chevy with no drilling or welding required. The Draw-Tite hitch is made by the same parent company the owns Reese.

Torklift has the SuperHitch Class V Trailer Hitch, # TLC1204. The Torklift hitch uses the 2 inch receiver opening and has a GTW of 17,000 (20,000 with WD) and tongue weight rating of 1,700(max 2,000 lbs with WD). The Torklift hitch is also a custom-fit hitch made for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado frame and is a bolt-on hitch that will need no drilling or welding.

The Torklift SuperHitch also includes an extra 2 inch receiver tube allowing the user to both tow and use a hitch mounted accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier.

Of the two hitches, I recommend the Torklift for a couple of reasons. First, the SuperHitch has a large weight capacity over the Draw-Tite hitch. Second, the Torklift's 2 inch receiver opening will give you more options on what you can tow and carry over the Draw-Tite's 2-1/2 inch receiver opening.
