Comparing Towing Vehicle with Tow Bar and Tow Dolly

Hello. I want to start towing a 2005 dodge grand caravan with my 2004 jayco greyhawk 31ss. Im looking at Acme tow dolly or Blue Ox Auto stop tow bar. Which would be best in your opinion. Also the van I want to pull is handicapped accessible rear entry.

All things being equal I prefer tow dollies as they cost about the same, don't require as in-depth of an install, more vehicles can be dolly towed than flat towed, the towing setup can be easily transferred to future vehicles without having to re-buy components, and half of the tires on the vehicle aren't getting wear.

For a tow dolly we have the Roadmaster part # RM-2050-1 which has a decent price compared to others.

A 2017 Ford Escape can only be towed behind a motorhome using a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes #RM-2050-1. It cannot be flat towed as it could damage the transmission of your vehicle.

I did somet hecking and it looks like your 2018 Chevy Equinox with a 1.5 liter engine and FWD is flat towable as-is. You could use the Demco Kar Kaddy you mentioned or the Roadmaster Tow Dolly part #RM-2050-1 that you referenced as well.

Yes the Roadmaster Tow Dolly part #RM-2050-1 that you referenced will work great to tow your 2017 Mazda 6. It has over 1,000 lbs more weight capacity than your vehicle would require too since I looked up your vehicle and at most it weighs 3,200 lbs.

The Roadmaster Tow Dolly part #RM-2050-1 has a maximum usable tire width of 77 inches. So if you measured from the outside of your front tire to the other side and the distance was less than that this dolly will fit.
