Video Transcript for Review of Thule Backpacks - Hydration Backpack - TH3203795

Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Thule Rail hydration system. This is going to be an eight liter capacity bag but it is going to have a two and a half liter hydro pack. So that's how much water you're actually going to be carrying in the hydro pack itself. But, there's still enough room to stash some other stuff in here as well. It's a unisex bag.

So, I'll try it out. And it actually fits pretty nicely. The thing that I like about it is that you can really cinch it in close to the body, so it's not going to sit up too high or make it make you feel like it's going to come down on your neck or anything like that, especially if you're going down a really steep grade. We've got our side flaps here, especially to again keep it nice and tight to your back. So it fits pretty well.

And, something else that's cool about the system from Thule is that it has this magnetic strip that goes along the mouthpiece. So, whenever you're done taking a drink, you just throw that down and it's going to cinch away or attach away, so you're not having to put it down and kind of fumble with anything or latch it onto anything, or use a strap to get it to go back down where you want it to go. So it makes it nice really quick to just take a drink, throw it down and not have to worry about it bouncing around and getting annoying. The bite or the mouthpiece is a bike grip. So, I'm just gonna use my hands.

You just bite onto that and pull out and that allows you to take a drink and then you just push it back in and it won't leak on you either. So, that's kind of nice, there. This is also available in a different color. This is the black version, or the obsidian. It's also available in a tan.

So, it looks pretty similar to this all the same features. You can find that here etrailer.com as well. It's just going to have that same look, different color. So, as far as the other features, let's talk about it, open it up. I like that it has a lot of different compartments. That's kind of, truly is known for having a lot of different options as far as your gear. So, it has a couple straps along the outside, so you can really cinch this down and make sure that there's no excess material or anything that's flapping around. So, you can keep everything really nice and tight. I'll open this up, look at the inside. You have a double zipper, so if you want to put them over on one side so you can kind of reach in from the back, you can. So, I have a couple of compartments in here. They are, they do have some suggested labels, so you can put, like, tools, maybe some, a small air pump or anything else in these pockets here. Also have a zip pocket with a little clip. So, maybe put your keys, there. An actual hydro pack is stashed behind all of that. So pull this out. This is BPA free. And again, two and a half liters of water in there. It's pretty easy to get this out. You can either take out this whole piece with that plastic piece there, or you can just slide it off of that, but then there is a little tether. So, if you just want to keep it kind of in there but just fill it up, that's probably the easiest way is to just slide it out. If you want to actually wash it, you can take the whole plastic piece off and then, you know, fill it up, or wash it out, or whatever you need to do. I'm just going to slide that back on, and then reattach it. It's just a little loop that goes back into. It's easiest to kind of put that in place, because it's pretty snug in there. And then, just push the. I know it's kinda hard for you to see what I'm doing. You can just kind of push this back around like that and I'll just stash this back in there. So, it should do a pretty good job of making sure that you are hydrated the whole time. If you're going on a really intense ride or, you know, you're just going on an endurance race, or whatever the case it might be for for the activity that you're participating in. You also have a pocket up here at the top. So, if you need to stash some snacks in there, or whatever you need, readily available. And, you also have a couple of pockets along the side, those kind of side back flaps. I'm just going to button up everything here. So, right in here, you've got a pocket there. This would be great for a light, kind of a mesh material. So, if you're going to be out somewhere where you need to have a little signal light or something like that, that'd be a good spot to stash that. Another thing that I like about this is that the material that's actually going to make contact with your back has this ribbing. So, this is going to kind of keep a little bit of air between you and the material. So, it's not just going to become a swampy sweaty mess on your back, and should keep you relatively cool as you're riding, but still allow you to pull this pretty close to the body, but it's not just going to be solid. That's true about the straps as well. So, you have that material and all of those spots that's going to make contact with you. You've got a couple of loops up here on the straps as well. So if you need to attach anything there, you can. It weighs about a pound, or excuse me, it allows you to have about eight liters of stuff inside here, and then two and a half liters of that would be water. So, that's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the Thule Rail hydration pack. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. Again, there's 10 colors also available here at etrailer.com We have a lot of other gear as well, so be sure to check it out, and thanks for watching..
