Necessity of Using Lift or Jack Stands to Install Receiver Hitch on 2005 Dodge Caravan

I am planning on installing a hitch on our van, as shown in your video. Do I have to use a hoist or can I just put the van on jack stands? 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with sto-in-go seats...

Using a lift is certainly the most convenient way to go, but is not absolutely necessary. When I installed the hitch on my van, I did not need to raise the vehicle at all.
Having the vehicle on jack stands or ramps would make your installation easier by providing easier access to the rear of the vehicle. When using jack stands or ramps, make sure your stands or ramps are of the proper weight capacity to handle your Grand Caravan. You should also chock the front wheels to prevent the van from rolling while the rear is raised.
