Hitch Recommendation for Having Hitch Fabricated to Trailer Frame
Question:
Im looking at doing a custom install of a receiver hitch on a trailer. None of the products on the market for this purpose are a good fit for my trailer. Instead Im thinking of having a welding shop attach a cross member to the main frame members, which I could then bolt this hitch receiver to. My question is: what are the dimensions of the square tube that this product is supposed to mount to?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Actually if you are planning on having a crossmember welded to the frame of your trailer you would be best off just having the part # 41990 welded to the frame as that has the hitch opening already welded to it. Or we have the part # 41990-07 which has the hitch attached to drop brackets.
I can't recommend the hitch you referenced as an option though as it's not designed as a multi-fit hitch.
