What Is Equivalent Sized Tire To Replace E78 Tires On 1976 EZ Loader Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a 1976 EZ loader trailer for a 17foot Bayliner with a 85HP Mercury. The tires on the trailer are E78 or Mark 78 on 14inch rims. What is the equilvent tire? What is a good safety margin for load rating? Thank you.

I asked our resident tire expert about the E78 tires you said you want to replace on your EZ Loader boat trailer.
He suggested the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire, part # AM10235. This is an 8-ply Load Range D tire that is designed to fit 14 x 5, 14 x 5-1/2, 14 x 6, and 14 x 6-1/2 wheels and has a load capacity of 2,040 lbs at 65 psi.
