Comparing Anti-Sway Bars and Axle Stabilizers for an RV on a 2014 Ford F-53 Chassis

Question:

I have a 2014 Forest River Georgetown 270. Equals about 28 ft. F-53 chassis. Class A What is the difference between rear track bar TT2400 and Rear sway bar RM-1139-143. Do I need both or would this be redundant ? Would you recommend going all RM front and rear or Blue Ox? What about Safe-T-plus steer dampener? Any info on Davis Tru-Trac bar or Henderson Super steer Rear stabilizer bar? Appreciate any help with front, rear, and steer.

Anti-sway bars and axle stabilizers are similar but they do different things. An anti-sway bar helps more with body roll which is that tilting side to side motion whereas an axle stabilizer helps for with the tail-wag motion. Both are going to make the RV more stable and more pleasant to drive. You can use both but if you wanted to try just one first I would recommend the anti-sway bar.

For a the 2014 Ford F-53 chassis # RM-1139-143 fits RVs that are less than 34 feet long. Check to ensure there is enough factory u-bolt available to accommodate the factory nut, washer and 1/2" plate. If the u-bolts are not long enough, the # RM-590050-00 u-bolt replacement kit is needed; sold separately.

I have included a link to all of the heavy duty vehicle stability upgrades we have for the 2014 Ford F-53 chassis as well as a help article that covers what they do and how they can help.

The Roadmaster anti-sway bars are beasts; definite upgrades from stock. I am less impressed with the Blue Ox offerings but they would still be better than stock.

This will be in addition to your factory anti-sway bar. The rear anti-sway bar you will need for your motorhome will be part # RM-1139-146
