Which Trailer Wiring Harness Should I Get for my 2008 Jeep Liberty, # 118554 or # 118381
Question:
What is the difference between wiring harness # 118455 and #118381? Are the both compatible with an 08 Jeep Liberty?

Expert Reply:
Both the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2008 Liberty by Jeep, part # 118381, and the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2008 Liberty by Jeep, part # 118554, will work on a 2008 Jeep Liberty.
The difference is that the #118554 is used on vehicles that do not have a tow package, and the #118381 is for Libertys that have a factory 7 way and want a way to have a 4 way connector as well.
If your Jeep Liberty does not have a tow package you will want to use the # 118554 kit.
If you have a factory 7 way and are looking for a way to convert to a 4 way, a simpler option than the # 118381 for you would be to get a 7 way to 4 way adapter, part # PK12716.
