There is no modification required on the vehicle to install Curt trailer hitch # C11196 on your 2012 Cadillac CTS coupe. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

Adding a supplemental transmission cooler is always a good idea because a cooler transmission lasts longer. A popular cooler for this vehicle is # D13503. I also recommend fitting # D13035 to avoid having to cut and flare metal transmission lines.
