The best place to mount the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13502 on your 2006 Cadillac CTS is directly behind the front grill and in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. It looks like you will have to remove the front grille or at least the core support cover in order to get an accurate available space measurement. In the attached picture you will see the different spaces that a transmission cooler can install, which in your case # 1 would work best if there is enough available space.

If your space is adequate then the connection is standard and starts off with the location of the two transmission lines that run from the transmission to the radiator. These are usually steel lines that are connected to the bottom of the radiator. The cooler would be installed inline with the transmission return line that carries the cooled fluid from the radiator back to the transmission. The transmission fluid return line is held in by an E clip. Once you locate the E clip at the radiator housing you will need to push in on the transmission cooler return line, and use a awl or small screwdriver to pry the E clip off of the line. The transmission line will then come out of the radiator housing.

You will then install the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter, item # D13035, using the E clip to hold the fitting in place. If this fitting leaks, an O-Ring in the radiator at this location will need to be replaced, these are available at a local auto parts store.

Once the new fitting is in place you will install the cooler hose on the fitting, run it to the trans cooler, then run another length of hose from the other fitting on the cooler to the return line that was removed from the radiator earlier. Clamp all of the hose ends tight and top off the transmission fluid.

I can send you the installation directions in a separate e-mail.

I have attached two FAQ articles covering transmission cooler that can help.
